Investments, Equities, Bonds, Derivatives Oh My…
Two years ago I knew NOTHING about the stock market. Equities, Bonds, RRSPs (401Ks) meant nothing to me.
I studied, I learnt, I worked hard and now (shockingly) I understand it, although it’s a never ending industry of knowledge.
I’ll try and update helpful hints about investing when I have time. Today’s tip:
Invest. No seriously, scrounge up your change and invest, invest, invest! The current 20-something crowd is going to look back on 2008 - 2010 kicking themselves in the rear end for not investing. Great companies are low. Yes, even after the little rebound from the last few months they’re still low.
Buy solid blue chip companies that pay dividends. If a company isn’t willing to pay you a dividend, in my opinion it’s not worth owning.
There is lots of money to be made. Don’t worry about hitting the low, accept that it’s just not going to happen. Besides, in the long run a few dollars won’t matter.
